Looking forward

The 2021-2022 year presented new opportunities for ASBA to raise the profile of trustees and highlight the impactful work that school board trustees do individually and collectively.

In the coming year, ASBA will continue to find innovative ways to serve member boards in supporting student success. As a membership-driven organization, ASBA will continue to work closely with members to listen, support and advocate on their behalf across the province.

2023 provincial election

The 2023 Alberta provincial election is an opportunity for ASBA and member boards to continue establishing relationships with elected officials, promote the importance of public, separate and francophone school boards, and the value that our member boards add in support of the education system. ASBA looks forward to further supporting members through the upcoming provincial election.

2023 Canadian School Boards Association Congress and National Trustee Gathering on Indigenous Education

ASBA is pleased to host the 2023 Canadian School Boards Association (CSBA) Annual Congress and National Trustee Gathering on Indigenous Education – Leading the Path Forward in Banff, Alberta from July 3-5, 2023. Banff will serve as an inspirational venue for trustees as we gather in-person for events, renowned keynote speakers, timely and relevant learning opportunities, as well as engaging workshops.

Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Student Awards

ASBA’s newly-developed Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Student Awards recognizes Alberta students in different grade levels who have shown tremendous growth in developing skills to better themselves by demonstrating determination, initiative and independence, which has led to their improved success both academically and personally. These awards will recognize individual success, including the work and effort applied to overcome academic challenges, and provide incentive to students to continue to strive for achievement and success in education.
